Leopard Print

I painted some rainbow leopard nails a while back and of all the colours I tried I liked the standard leopard best, another mani I've been meaning to paint for a while...

I also want to try it on a glitter base (as always gold) but I can't decide if it will look too trampy or not, I'm a little bit cautious with leopard print!

Blood shot eyeballs

I never actually got around to writing a post about my Halloween nails, I saw these in a WAH nail art book that Nancy got my for Christmas and have been wanting to paint them forever, Halloween was the perfect excuse.

Sorry this is so late and that the edges aren't tidied. I'll try and post more too, there has been a massive lack of nail art lately!

Frankenstein Nails

These were meant to be Halloween inspired Frankenstein nails, but I can't help but think Frankenstein looks a little bit like Hilter. I think it's the hair.

I like he barbed french tips though, Frankenstein/Hitler is just a bit spesh.

Pay-day nails

I was sat on my bed wondering what to paint on my nails and I saw my wage slip on the side. I wanted the pattern on my nails.. this is what happened.

I'm pretty happy with them, they came out a lot better than I thought they would. It's not actually rectangles, the ends are facing in v's so they kind of look like this >  <  (if that makes sense!) but yeah, you can't really tell from the pics as I didn't take them on my camera.

Lace and flowers

lace and rose nail art featuring Models Own polishes by yasminsnails

I love these nails. They are probably going to be the last floral summery ones for a while now as it's getting so cold :(

I found the roses a lot easier to paint than the last time I attempted them. The semi circles of the lace are a bit messy but I think they still look pretty. They were definitely the bit I found hardest to paint.

31DC2013 Day 11: Polka Dots

I've really not been putting much effort into this challenge, I didn't realise how hard it would be working and finding time to paint everyday. I think I'm going to only end up posting good nail art at weekends when I have lots of time!

These are two of my fav polishes, Essie Mint Candy Apple and No7 Lucky Lilac, I use them quite a lot and always love them. I meant for the dots on the green nails to be bigger than the purple ones but they just look a bit shit haha

31DC2013 Day 10: Gradient Nails

I'm really annoyed about today's nails. I painted a really pretty dark to light pink gradient with 3 of my favorite polishes but because I don't have a proper camera I couldn't photograph them properly!! Normally my pictures come out ok, they are never great but you can see what I've painted. With the gradient it just looked like one shade of very badly painted polish.
I did think about trying again and using more contrasting shades but to be perfectly honest I didn't want to do it and then find out they didn't photograph well either and have to start over, again.

I think I jinxed it by saying yesterday that I'd paint something nice today. Fail. Tomorrow I will incorporate dots and a gradient to attempt to cover both the themes?

31DC2013 Day 9: Rainbow Nails

I don't really have time to paint anything pretty and immediately thought of Zippy from Rainbow rather than the traditional rainbow theme.

Really simple and quick to paint, kind of shows as they really do look awful. For day 10 I'm actually going to paint something nice haha

31DC2013 Day 8: Metallic Nails

I'm a bit late into joining the 31 day challenge as I was so busy finishing off my thesis, it's all done now so I'm free to paint my nails as much as I like, yay!

I was planning on painting these yesterday for black and white but never got round to it. I decided I would make them metallic for today instead.

They are a base of Essie fair game with 2 coats of fine glitter (which you can't really see as the image quality is so bad) followed by a coat of Sally Hansen Nail Shine Miracle to smooth them out. I then freehand painted the black over the top. I can't decide if I like these nails or not, I think they could look nicer if the zebra print was finer and I spent more time on them.

Polka Dot Bows

I saw this design on another blog and had to copy it, theirs was on a multicoloured glitter base but for once I decided against glitter and thought it would look nicer on a plain base.

My mum said the bows look like spiders which has completely ruined these nails for me! Probably over did the definition lines... something to work on I guess hah :(

I love bows.

Pacman Nails

So my dissertation is due in just over a week so naturally procrastination has set in.
Pacman Nails...

The next two pics aren't the best quality but I wanted to try and get a closer view of some of them :)

Strawberries!

Strawberries with pretty glittery stalks :)

Good Hand

Bad Hand

I think I actually prefer my bad hand with these nails the stalks look nice but the pips aren't as even... It's another really really easy design that you don't really need tools for, stalks could be a bit tricky with a normal brush but it would definitely be doable.

Clouds

Possibly the easiest nail art ever, I used a dotting tool but you don't really need tools for this, the end of a kirby grip or a tooth pick would work just as well to create the dots for the clouds.

It would have looked better if I have a brighter blue, this one is Essie - 96: beach bum blu, which is a lovely polish but it's metallic and not quite the right shade.

Summer Roses :)

Not quite perfected the circle swirly rose but it can only get better.

It's been too long since I've painted my nails.

Blue Bows

I have a new Essie (beach bum blu) it's a metallic blue colour, it looks really pretty on it's own but to make it even better I added these blue bows. Incase you hadn't realised yet I really really like bows.

Birthday Candle Nails

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY BITCHES

22 candles on each hand.

These nails were actually really quick to do, I was expecting them to be a lot harder and take more time but they only took about 10/15 mins. I've been wanting to paint these for ages and now it's only a couple of days until my birthday it's definitely acceptable.

Enjoy!x

p.s thank Fran for pictures, but blame her if I die tonight.

Glitter Crossed Pattern

This was my first time using striping tape and I really like it, can't wait to try some other pretty patterns. I used glitter polish so sometimes removing the tape was difficult and it messed up the design but overall I'm a big fan of these nails :)

Paisley print nails

Paisley print on a bluey/purple base... the photos are a bit rubbish, I need to buy a camera :/

doing this design on my wrong hand was quite tricky, the things are thicker and it's not as intricate.. so I've included 2 pictures of the same hand haha

Due to popular demand here is the what happened with my wrong hand...

Like some of my other designs I did these using a pen rather than nail varnish for more control, but the lines are a bit grey and scrawly in places, next time I'd use a better pen with darker ink to make it look better I also want to try doing this on different backgrounds, possibly with a colour blend. I saw this design on One Nail to Rule them All, you should definitely check out her designs, they are fab :)

Cheer bow nails

So obviously it's the Hornets birthday party on Sunday so I faffed around for hours putting cheer bows on my nails. I did about 4/5 different designs (most of which I smudged a lot) including gold bows (below) black and gold bows (like our York ones, unfortunately they didn't photo well) pink bows, white bows...

...Then I got bored

I quite liked the gold bows (they didn't look as yellow in person) but they looked silly on their own and too much with all the nails painted, so I finally decided on French manicure + pink bows...

...now I just have to pick a dress :/

In the end I changed these, again! Just got rid of the feature nail to make it the same as the others. It looked much nicer :)

Happy 4th birthday Hornets, we are awesome!

Patterned Nails

(good hand)

(bad hand)

These nails actually took forever.
All the individual stripes then detail over the top was a nightmare and particularly tricky painting with my left hand.. hence the wonky lines and messy detail.
Neverminddd, can only get better :)

 Flowers and Stripes

right hand

left hand

Pretty similar to the pale blue flowers I did a few weeks ago but this time we have stripes too and the nails with flowers have little white polka dots in the background

Galaxy Nails

These nails are actually very easy, they are just a black base and different colours sponged onto them, then white dots (stars!) painted onto them. Plus glitter and top coat of course :)

Enjoy! x

Rawwwwrr

219's gone dino crazy for Zac's 1st Birthday :)

You need: beige, white, fine brush, dotting tool, top coat

This was mainly painted on using a fine brush, the footprints I painted a letter V before adding the 3rd line. The smaller bones were done with a dotting tool... not much to say really.

Don't really know if I like the dinosaur bones, I like the foot prints though (apart from my little finger)

Studded nails.

You Need: pink varnish, nail art steel balls, a cocktail stick and top coat.

1) Base coat and paint feature nail with a thick coat of pink
2) Whilst it is still wet press in studs, I started with a vertical line in the centre and worked my way out, you have to do this quickly or the nail will dry. I picked them up and placed them using a cocktail stick.
3) Paint the rest of your nails pink
4) Top coat all nails
5) Paint a second extra thick layer of top coat over the studded nail.

These nails are really easy but the studded nail takes a very long time to dry, and is very easy to smudge so be careful! You can get actual studs, but I didn't have any so used steel balls, studs can be bought really cheaply from amazon/ebay and come in loads of different shapes and sizes :)

Leopard Print Rainbow Nails

You need: 11 colours, black is essential the others can be pretty much anything, topcoat, dotting tool

1) Base coat in a light colour (I've picked beige, pale pink, slightly brighter pink, mint green and pale blue)
2) Using the normal brush paint different sized blobs over each nail, this should be in a darker colour (I've picked brown for the beige nail, beige for the pale pink, hot pink for the brighter pink, turquoise for the mint green, and purple for the pale blue)
3) Use a dotting tool to paint broken circles and 'c' shapes around each blob
4) Fill any spaces with dots, dashes and 'c' shapes
5) Topcoat

First nails with no art in a long time, not particularly exciting and the colours look all funny in photos. But still.

They are literally just a pink base with multicoloured glitter topcoat and normal topcoat.

...that's it
