Roses :)

I love these nails! They were so easy to paint and have come out pretty well considering I haven't painted in months. I used Models Own banana split as a base and then my favourite pinks and greens by Essie for the roses.

They've come out nicely on my wrong hand too which I'm pretty happy about :) 

This is a really nice yellow but the pigment isn't great so I had to paint numerous coats to start with. I hate wearing too many layers as I find it doesn't last as long as only 1 or 2. Hopefully these nails will be alright because as I've said numerous times I really like them :)

Another Aztec Mani

Pretty proud of these :)

I used a models own base and tried out the Barry M nail art pen for the first time. I really like the detail you can get with it, but the pen actually broke half was through so a little bit of this is freehand using a fine brush. Overall not that impressed with the pen, I have a black one to try out but if the result is similar I won't be buying another one for it to block and then become unusable the first time.

Aztec Triangles

After doing pretty poor Aztec nails at the start of the week I wanted to paint some better ones. Still stuck with the same pinky nude colour, but a different design with triangles. I much prefer this design. It's not perfect but far better and cleaner.

I really like the little hearts too

My left hand is a bit special, I'm a bit out of practice, not had time to paint in ages. I saw this design on pintrest with slightly different colours and thought it was amazing. I don't know who originally painted it to credit them but their design was so pretty I had to try it!

Nude Aztec

It's been stupidly long since I've painted my nails so these aren't great, I also used the wrong brush and no

dotting tool. Some of the nails came out nice, others look messy. I definitely want to do these again because they could be really nice

Valentines Nails

Feather effect blue and white polish with red hearts detail. 

The hearts are from a red glitter topcoat and were placed using a cocktail stick and sealed in place with topcoat. I really like the base on these nails, feather effect polish always looks really cool and I like the colours of these nails :)

20s Nails

These nails are for new years eye tomorrow, I'm going to a 20s themed event. I used striping tape to do these which took me forever because I hate it! I'm happy with how they came out but the index finger is a bit messy :/

Drunk Reindeer

These are possibly my favourite nails ever. My drunken Reindeer's. I got the idea from another blog but changed it around a bit. You have the fatty with a bow tie, a reindeer caught up in fairy lights, Rudolph with a bauble hanging from his antlers, a reindeer with his head in a holly bush and the little upside down reindeer. 

I've taken photos of all the different stages of these nails, first I painted the bodies of the reindeer,

Then began adding details like ears

...and mouth and nose

Eyes and outline of accessories next

Followed by pupils and further detail to the accessories

Finally I made it snow :D

I loved painting these nails and will definitely be keeping them on as long as possible. Hope you like them too :)

Christmas Puddings

I painted Christmas puddings for Sarah last year but decided to paint them on myself this year. Her ones were glittery and pretty but just to make them a bit different these ones are plain. 

Here's a link to last years nails, I'm not sure what way I prefer them. I do think my technique has got a lot better in these ones though, and the photos are clearly better!

Some of them look a bit crazy as I couldn't find my biggest dotting tool for the eyes but they still look kind of cute.

My first Christmas post of 2013 :)

These nails were quite simple but I rushed them so a little bit messy.

I added glitter to these because glitter is amazing and it makes everything more Christmassy, but it's another one where I think it maybe looked better without it. 

My bad hand is also a lot better than the one painted with my good hand, standard Yasmin.

Leopard Print

I painted some rainbow leopard nails a while back and of all the colours I tried I liked the standard leopard best, another mani I've been meaning to paint for a while...

I also want to try it on a glitter base (as always gold) but I can't decide if it will look too trampy or not, I'm a little bit cautious with leopard print!

Blood shot eyeballs

I never actually got around to writing a post about my Halloween nails, I saw these in a WAH nail art book that Nancy got my for Christmas and have been wanting to paint them forever, Halloween was the perfect excuse.

Sorry this is so late and that the edges aren't tidied. I'll try and post more too, there has been a massive lack of nail art lately!

Frankenstein Nails

These were meant to be Halloween inspired Frankenstein nails, but I can't help but think Frankenstein looks a little bit like Hilter. I think it's the hair. 

I like he barbed french tips though, Frankenstein/Hitler is just a bit spesh.

Pay-day nails

I was sat on my bed wondering what to paint on my nails and I saw my wage slip on the side. I wanted the pattern on my nails.. this is what happened. 

I'm pretty happy with them, they came out a lot better than I thought they would. It's not actually rectangles, the ends are facing in v's so they kind of look like this >  <  (if that makes sense!) but yeah, you can't really tell from the pics as I didn't take them on my camera.

Lace and flowers

I love these nails. They are probably going to be the last floral summery ones for a while now as it's getting so cold :(

I found the roses a lot easier to paint than the last time I attempted them. The semi circles of the lace are a bit messy but I think they still look pretty. They were definitely the bit I found hardest to paint.

31DC2013 Day 11: Polka Dots

I've really not been putting much effort into this challenge, I didn't realise how hard it would be working and finding time to paint everyday. I think I'm going to only end up posting good nail art at weekends when I have lots of time! 

These are two of my fav polishes, Essie Mint Candy Apple and No7 Lucky Lilac, I use them quite a lot and always love them. I meant for the dots on the green nails to be bigger than the purple ones but they just look a bit shit haha

31DC2013 Day 10: Gradient Nails

I'm really annoyed about today's nails. I painted a really pretty dark to light pink gradient with 3 of my favorite polishes but because I don't have a proper camera I couldn't photograph them properly!! Normally my pictures come out ok, they are never great but you can see what I've painted. With the gradient it just looked like one shade of very badly painted polish.

I did think about trying again and using more contrasting shades but to be perfectly honest I didn't want to do it and then find out they didn't photograph well either and have to start over, again. 

I think I jinxed it by saying yesterday that I'd paint something nice today. Fail. Tomorrow I will incorporate dots and a gradient to attempt to cover both the themes?

31DC2013 Day 9: Rainbow Nails

I don't really have time to paint anything pretty and immediately thought of Zippy from Rainbow rather than the traditional rainbow theme.

 

Really simple and quick to paint, kind of shows as they really do look awful. For day 10 I'm actually going to paint something nice haha

31DC2013 Day 8: Metallic Nails

I'm a bit late into joining the 31 day challenge as I was so busy finishing off my thesis, it's all done now so I'm free to paint my nails as much as I like, yay! 

I was planning on painting these yesterday for black and white but never got round to it. I decided I would make them metallic for today instead.

They are a base of Essie fair game with 2 coats of fine glitter (which you can't really see as the image quality is so bad) followed by a coat of Sally Hansen Nail Shine Miracle to smooth them out. I then freehand painted the black over the top. I can't decide if I like these nails or not, I think they could look nicer if the zebra print was finer and I spent more time on them.

Polka Dot Bows

I saw this design on another blog and had to copy it, theirs was on a multicoloured glitter base but for once I decided against glitter and thought it would look nicer on a plain base. 

My mum said the bows look like spiders which has completely ruined these nails for me! Probably over did the definition lines... something to work on I guess hah :(

I think I actually prefer my bad hand with these nails the stalks look nice but the pips aren't as even... It's another really really easy design that you don't really need tools for, stalks could be a bit tricky with a normal brush but it would definitely be doable.
